Mostly made out of leather, through the use of a laser cutter.
Eckers is inspired by the shirt collars, the round shape of the 60s glasses, and blank spaces.
The initial design was slightly adapted by the company, avoiding empty corners at the front.

LayTHERE was the final project of my one year course on Global Design and the starting point for Eckers.

My family has been in the leather business for over five generations, so it has always been dear to me. It is a material mostly valued for its upper surface and properties, but I wanted to prove that its inside is also very special.

The result showed that we can manipulate it as wood. You can cut, engrave, sand and mill it.
